Trethellan View 2018-02-21T16:26:37+00:00

Historic barn conversion with all modern amenities ideal for large families, multi-generation families, and groups of friends.

Trethellan View is Grade II listed building which is believed to date from the 17th Century.   According to historic England, this was formerly a mill which was water-powered through the rear wall. You can still see evidence of the wagon entrance in the long granite lintels above the downstairs double bedroom.

You will enter the property into the spacious kitchen/diner with travertine floor, oak kitchen units and farmhouse dining table to seat eight.  The kitchen is equipped with a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, separate under-counter fridge and freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine.  The extractor for the hob is built into the chimney of an old forge, giving a taste of the barn’s past.

The spectacular lounge is where you’ll really feel the barn’s history.  This is reached via steps from the kitchen and has wooden flooring, vaulted ceiling with exposed beams, a low-level door to the garden, TV, Freeview and DVD.

Trethellan View offers FOUR bedrooms: 1 large double bedroom with en-suite shower and WC and 2 twins are situated on the ground floor, and a further double with four poster bed and en-suite shower and separate WC upstairs.   There is also a stylish family bathroom downstairs with shower over, WC, and heated towel rail.

Right outside the front door is ample parking for 2 cars (in fact we’ve even squeezed 5 on there if people don’t mind being blocked in!).  To the rear of the property is a large, pet-friendly and secure private garden with plenty of outdoor seating.  We can provide a large charcoal barbeque and sun loungers if you’d like to spend time relaxing in the garden.

Testimonials

What a beautiful place to stay!! Thanks again Iain and Julia for being so accomodating and welcoming! We loved our stay and would definitely return, a perfect place for friends to spend the weekend!

Sophie, South Yorks, England

From start to finish we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. As an historic property it certainly lived up to our expectations… well appointed, sensitively furnished and the garden perfect for our dog to lounge around and enjoy his time without us worrying about him escaping somewhere.

Ben, Northumberland, England

Great location for exploring both the the north and south coasts of Cornwall. So many lovely places to visit nearby. Spacious accommodation perfect for large groups/families.  Iain and Julia are great hosts. Thankyou for making us feel so welcome.

Jane, Powys, Wales

Iain and Julia couldn’t do enough for us, being both hugely accommodating and helpful with our requirements. The house is so scenic and tucked away, easy to shut the rest of the world out and perfect for a family holiday or rural getaway. We had an excellent stay and would highly recommend!

Laura, Bristol, England

Great place for a quiet retreat away from it all. Plenty of space in the lovely cottage, which was clean and warm. Our hosts were very welcoming and we were able to really relax. I would very much recommend this.

Arabella, East Sussex, England

Great location to venture around and see all the sites and a lovely place to come back to at the end of the day. Iain and family were great hosts and my niece and nephew even got to feed the animals. Thank you guys and hope to come and stay again soon.

Gemma, Middlesex, England
If you’re looking for a quiet retreat in the middle of nowhere then look no further. An incredible, charming cottage on a farm as far away from reality as you want. If you have a car it’s easy to get to local places such as Falmouth, Truro, and portreath. Could not recommend the house, or the hosts more.
Ben, Berks, England

A very comfortable well appointed home in a quiet countryside. We loved our time, as 4 seniors travelling around it was a haven to come home to in the evening.

Peter, Queensland, Australia
This place is fantastic!  The house is immaculate and little touches like milk in the fridge on arrival etc. and tea bags make all the difference.  You wont be disappointed if you book Iain & Julia’s place!

The Small Print – Check in is anytime after 3PM, but do please ask if you’d like earlier as this is sometimes possible.  Check out time is 10AM to enable us to prepare for our next guests.  For the comfort of all our guests we ask for no smoking in the grounds as well as in the properties.  Pets are welcome, but please contact us if you’d like to bring more than 2 four-legged friends. Dogs can run free in the secure garden, but please keep them on a lead when on the grounds to avoid scaring our ponies and alpacas. Please use poobags and put them in the dustbin.  We may change items of furniture and decorations between your booking and your stay but please rest assured any changes will enhance your stay.  Please leave the barn, all furniture, fixtures, fittings and effects in the same state of repair and cleanliness as at the start of your holiday.  No parties or events.  Please keep any noise outside to a minimum after 10PM to avoid disturbing our other guests.
